Welcome to my site!

My interests include criminal justice, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence and writing a mystery novel.

I am working on a project exploring the relationship between criminal thinking and emotional intelligence in women currently in prison. The hypothesis is that if areas of criminal thinking are high then areas of emotional intelligence will be low. A robust negative relationship in some criminal thinking and areas of emotional intelligence were previously found in men.  Research reflects that coaching can increase emotional intelligence. If the hypothesis is true, further research may determine that increasing emotional intelligence decreases criminal thinking leading to less recidivism.

The mystery novel is for those who enjoy suspenseful reading as well as to interest women in becoming part of the criminal justice world as a law enforcement officer or prosecuting attorney.

Murder at the Capital is a novel about good versus evil.  It is a story about a young woman who lives with integrity and believes in justice within the criminal system but finds herself in a conflict between right and wrong.  A powerful senator is murdered in his private office at the state capitol.  Honey Evans, a new detective, is assigned to investigate and asked to rule the incident a natural death.  What should she do?  Honey risks her honor and life finding the answer.
